According to an exclusive report by Edaily on October 8, the two first became acquainted while appearing in the 2020 tvN drama Memorist. Yoo Seung-ho played Dong-baek in the series, while Lim Se-joo appeared as Lee Seul-bi.

The report states that the two became closer after working together and later developed a romantic relationship.
