Chilean Police Praise ARMY’s Conduct as 15 Arrests Are Reported Near BTS Concert Venue

Chilean police praised BTS fans for their orderly behavior after security operations surrounding the group’s concerts in Santiago resulted in 15 arrests.

According to Chilean broadcasters TVN and T13, police carried out security operations around Santiago’s National Stadium during BTS’s October 17 concert, conducting more than 2,500 identity checks and vehicle inspections.

General Alex Baamondes, head of the Western Metropolitan Police Region, praised ARMY during a briefing, saying fans had behaved extremely well and that there had been no problems with public order.

Police said one of the 15 people arrested was detained on suspicion of fraud. Authorities did not disclose the reasons for the other 14 arrests or whether those individuals were attending the BTS concert.

Baamondes used the fraud case to remind fans to exercise caution when purchasing concert tickets to avoid becoming victims of scams.

BTS fans also received praise from Chile’s Investigative Police, or PDI, which highlighted the cooperative behavior of fans passing through airports and border crossings with Argentina, Bolivia and Peru.

Ahead of the October 17 concert, a Chilean police band also performed BTS’s hit song “Dynamite” near La Moneda Palace. According to T13, police said the performance was intended as a gesture of appreciation for the orderly behavior shown by fans attending BTS’s earlier Santiago concert.

BTS held three ARIRANG world tour concerts at Santiago’s National Stadium on October 14, 16 and 17.
