Rapper Yang Hong-won’s agency has denied allegations that he cheated on his wife, Won Hyun-joo, after claims involving a motel visit spread online just days after the couple held their wedding ceremony.
On October 23, an individual identified as A posted on social media claiming that Yang had gone to a motel with another woman. The allegation surfaced five days after Yang and Won held their wedding ceremony on October 18.
According to reports, A claimed that the motel incident itself took place several weeks before the wedding and released messages, phone-call recordings and information involving the woman in support of the allegations.
Yang’s agency, AP Alchemy, later issued an official statement disputing A’s account.
The agency acknowledged that Yang and the woman went to the same motel but denied that there was any romantic or sexual interaction between them.
According to AP Alchemy, Yang had been drinking at A’s home after a performance when A told Yang and the woman to leave. The agency said Yang was heavily intoxicated and needed somewhere to sleep, while the woman also had nowhere to go, leading the two to travel to the motel together.
AP Alchemy said Yang fell asleep immediately after entering the room. The agency claimed that when the woman later attempted to wake him, she felt uncomfortable with the physical contact that would be required and contacted A for assistance before eventually leaving with A.
The agency further alleged that A later attempted to use the fact that Yang and the woman had been together at the motel to demand money.
AP Alchemy claimed that existing conversations were edited and used to support false allegations after Yang and the woman refused the alleged monetary demand and contacted police.
The agency said Yang and the woman have each filed complaints against A on allegations including extortion, violation of South Korea’s anti-stalking law and defamation through the publication of false information.
AP Alchemy stressed that while Yang and the woman did accompany each other to the motel, they had barely interacted during the earlier drinking session and that no romantic or sexual activity took place inside the room.
The agency also said no money was paid to A and that it has continued receiving information from people who it says can support its claim that the allegations were deliberately manipulated.
Yang and Won, who had been together for several years and welcomed a daughter in November 2024, held their wedding ceremony in Seoul on October 18.
The allegations and AP Alchemy’s response have since drawn significant attention online, with the central facts now disputed between the original accuser and Yang’s representatives.
Netizen Reactions
The Nate News comments were overwhelmingly skeptical of AP Alchemy’s explanation, with many users arguing that Yang Hong-won going to a motel with another woman was itself difficult to reconcile with the agency’s defense.
