A woman who says she accompanied rapper Yang Hong-won to a motel has spoken publicly about the incident, denying that anything happened between them and claiming that she was also a victim of an attempted extortion scheme.
The woman, identified as A, posted a statement on social media on October 24 saying that the account given by the person who initially raised the allegations, identified as B, differed significantly from what she experienced and remembered.
A alleged that B demanded money from her and threatened her before making the allegations public after she refused to pay. She said she has since filed a criminal complaint.
She also denied B’s claims about games involving physical contact during the earlier drinking gathering.
According to A, she did not know Yang personally before that night. She claimed that B repeatedly urged her to follow Yang to the motel and told her that B would contact her again shortly afterward.
A said Yang appeared somewhat uncomfortable with the arrangement but was intoxicated, while she followed him because she believed B would contact her soon.
“Absolutely nothing happened. He immediately slept on the bed, and I slept on the floor,” A said, denying that she and Yang had any romantic or sexual relationship.
A claimed that she later realized she had been used when B began demanding money from her. She alleged that the events of that night had been planned as part of an effort to obtain money and said the subsequent exposure of her face and personal information had caused distress to both her and her family.
She added that she regretted her poor judgment while drinking and said the ongoing public attention surrounding her identity had been extremely difficult.
Along with her statement, A released screenshots of what she said were conversations with B.
In one exchange, A accused B of having planned the situation. B allegedly responded by suggesting that A pay money to end the matter and offering to delete her personal information. When A refused and said she would report the situation with evidence, the conversation continued with further discussion of monetary demands.
A cited the messages as evidence supporting her claim that B had attempted to extort money from her.
Earlier that day, B had publicly alleged that Yang went to a motel with another woman approximately three to four weeks before his wedding ceremony and released messages and recordings while raising allegations of infidelity.
Yang’s agency, AP Alchemy, subsequently denied the infidelity allegation. The agency acknowledged that Yang and A went to the motel together but maintained that no romantic or sexual interaction occurred between them.
The agency also alleged that B attempted to demand money using the motel visit as leverage and said Yang and A had filed complaints against B alleging extortion, violation of South Korea’s anti-stalking law, and defamation by alleging false information.
A’s statement largely supported the version of events previously presented by the agency, while the claims made by B, Yang’s representatives and A remain disputed.
Yang and Won Hyun-joo, who had been together for several years and welcomed a daughter in November 2024, held their wedding ceremony in Seoul on October 18.
The controversy emerged shortly after the wedding, although B’s allegation places the motel visit itself approximately three to four weeks before the ceremony.
Netizen Reactions
The sampled Nate News discussion was overwhelmingly skeptical of A’s explanation. Many commenters argued that the central issue was why she and Yang Hong-won entered the same motel room in the first place, regardless of whether they slept separately. Others questioned why she followed a man she said she had never met before, while several reacted sarcastically to the explanation.
