TVXQ’s U-Know Yunho Faces Criticism Over Infrequent Bubble Messages and Fan Exchange

TVXQ member U-Know Yunho has drawn criticism online following an exchange with fans on the paid communication platform Bubble.

Screenshots circulating on Korean online communities show Yunho responding directly to criticism about how frequently he communicates through the service.

In one message, Yunho apologized to a subscriber for not being able to satisfy them and said he was visiting Bubble as much as possible. He then added, “Please don’t provoke me for no reason^^.”

Another screenshot shows a fan arguing that subscribers might not have become so upset if he had communicated at least once a month, noting that Bubble is a paid service and criticizing the way a fan’s username had been publicly singled out during the exchange.

Yunho responded to some of the criticism by asking fans not to speak to him in that manner. He also questioned why people believed he had specifically targeted a particular fan and later asked those continuing the discussion to stop.

The screenshots subsequently spread on X and Korean online communities, where some users criticized Yunho’s tone and argued that artists who find paid fan communication difficult should consider not offering the service.

Others focused on the subscription model itself, questioning whether fans should continue paying during long periods with little communication.

The discussion reflects broader expectations surrounding paid idol messaging platforms, where fans pay recurring subscription fees for direct messages and other artist updates.

Netizen Reactions

The sampled reactions were overwhelmingly critical, with commenters arguing that artists who do not enjoy frequent paid fan communication should simply avoid offering a subscription service rather than responding defensively to complaints.

1. Still the same as ever.
2. But the fact that they’re still subscribing even after what happened... Have they never thought about where their money is going?
3. Idols who aren’t suited for paid fan communication just shouldn’t do it... That’s better for everyone.
4. Going out of his way to mention the username and then taking a jab at the fan is really something.
5. Changmin...? Fans must be seriously losing affection over this;;;
6. But is it really okay to take a jab at fans like that? If it doesn’t suit him, he just shouldn’t do it. That would be better for everyone... Fans are basically going to subscribe anyway, seriously.
7. Why even mention the username? ㅋㅋ He talks so rudely.
8. If paid fan communication doesn’t suit you, you shouldn’t sell it. Why act like that while even bringing up someone’s username?
9. He came back after two months? Do they refund you for the months he doesn’t show up?
10. If paid fan communication doesn’t suit you, just don’t open it in the first place. That would solve it, so why act like this?
