A short preview of ILLIT’s upcoming title track “You’re Under Arrest” has drawn mixed reactions online ahead of the group’s comeback.

The track, titled “체포하겠어 (You’re Under Arrest),” will appear on ILLIT’s fifth mini album BREAK EVEN, which is scheduled for release on October 26 at 6 p.m. KST.

Several brief clips of the unreleased song were shared, where listeners reacted to its beat, prominent whistle sound and accompanying choreography.

Some commenters compared the preview to music commonly heard at baseball stadiums, while others felt the track appeared designed with short-form platforms such as TikTok in mind.

Other listeners responded more positively, describing the preview as cute and saying its sound reminded them of an anime.

The discussion also included criticism of increasingly harsh comments directed at ILLIT, with some users questioning why the group was being compared to controversial forms of Korean livestream entertainment based on such a short preview.

Bang Si-hyuk has also drawn attention for his involvement in the album, having participated in the production of all four tracks on BREAK EVEN, including “You’re Under Arrest.”

Netizen Reactions

The sampled comments were divided, with several users comparing the song’s whistle and rhythm to music heard at baseball stadiums, while others defended ILLIT or said they found the preview cute.

1. A whistle??

2. It sounds like something you’d hear at a baseball stadium.

3. This feels so much like a song made specifically for TikTok... what is this?

4. Produced by Bang Si-hyuk..

5. Minju’s talent is going to waste.

6. It sounds like the kind of jingle they’d play at a baseball stadium when a batter gets out.

7. Maybe it’s because we only heard the beat at first, but I thought it sounded like one of those baseball stadium out jingles. Even the choreography has that same kind of vibe, which makes it feel even more like that.

8. Maybe it’s because I’m an old school otaku, but it reminds me of an anime ㅋㅋㅋ I think it’s cute and I like it.

9. The post that made it to the Hot board earlier today got deleted because the comments were way too harsh, so why do people keep comparing them to those ‘Excel’ BJ broadcasts..? Is that really something you should be saying about female idols? The wording is f*cking irritating..

10. It has that baseball stadium out jingle vibe.
