The former executive, identified in the original report only as “A,” has been out of contact since early July. After he failed to return home for an extended period, his family filed a missing-person report.
Ilsan Seobu Police Station has been tracing his movements through CCTV footage and examining the last known location where his mobile phone was switched off.
During the search, A was also named in an embezzlement complaint filed by the automotive parts company that had recruited him as an inside director after he left Arc Media’s management.
The company alleged that A had embezzled ₩1.5 billion, an amount reportedly equivalent to approximately 1.14 percent of its equity capital.
Police are investigating multiple possibilities surrounding his disappearance, including whether he intentionally went into hiding or was involved in an accident. Authorities have not established that his disappearance is connected to the embezzlement allegation.
A previously worked as an assistant director at a terrestrial broadcaster before co-founding Arc Media in 2019. The production company, now known as Scene & Studio, was involved in dramas including Big Bet, Grid, and Not Others.
A stepped down from the company’s management in 2025 and was later recruited as an inside director by an automotive parts company seeking to expand into the entertainment business.
