Poppin’ Hyun-joon Revisits 2014 Asiana Sponsorship Controversy and Says He Was Dropped From Government Choreography Project

Poppin’ Hyun-joon recently revisited a 2014 controversy surrounding a sponsored Asiana Airlines flight and said he was also dropped from a government-related choreography project around the same time.

In a video released on the YouTube channel ë‹í„°ě‹  on September 23, Poppin’ Hyun-joon recalled receiving airfare to attend an event in the United States. He said that when he arrived at the airport, his seat reservation had not been confirmed, leaving him waiting for more than 30 minutes before the ticket was eventually issued.

However, the social media post that sparked controversy at the time went beyond complaining about the wait. In 2014, Poppin’ Hyun-joon wrote about the sponsored ticket, saying, “If they were going to sponsor me anyway, they should’ve given me business class,” and complained about his seat assignment. He also wrote, “Next time I’m going with Korean Air!! ă…‹ă…‹”

As the post spread, he faced heavy criticism for complaining about the terms of a sponsored flight. Looking back on the incident in the recent video, Poppin’ Hyun-joon described his post as having “called out” Asiana and said he was heavily criticized over it.

He also said that he was dropped from a government-related gymnastics choreography project he had been preparing at the time. However, the source notes that it has not been confirmed whether the airline post was directly responsible for his removal from the project.

Asiana Airlines said at the time that the ticket had actually been provided to the organizers of the event, who then gave it to Poppin’ Hyun-joon. After the controversy, he apologized to the airline and said he had made careless remarks in a moment of emotion
