Na Moon-hee Touched by IU Knowing About Her Longtime Friendship With Kim Young-ok

Actress Na Moon-hee shared which of IU’s thoughtful preparations touched her the most, saying she was especially grateful that IU knew about her longtime friendship with Kim Young-ok.

On September 14, a behind-the-scenes video from the filming of IU’s new music video was uploaded to her YouTube channel. The music video features veteran actresses Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee, who are well known as longtime close friends in the entertainment industry.

Ahead of filming, IU prepared a surprise for the two actresses by personally decorating their waiting room and arranging gifts and snacks for them.

However, what touched Na Moon-hee the most was that IU knew about the real-life friendship between her and Kim Young-ok. While resting and eating ice cream, Na Moon-hee said, “How did she know the two of us were close and ask us to do this? That’s what I’m most grateful for. Ji-eun-ah, I love you.”

Na Moon-hee was moved that IU had gone beyond simply casting the two veteran actresses together and had recognized the friendship they had maintained for many years.

Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee have worked alongside each other in the entertainment industry for decades while continuing their close friendship, making their appearance together in the music video especially meaningful.

The behind-the-scenes video also showed IU visiting a famous rice cake shop early in the morning and personally preparing the waiting room for the two actresses.

Meanwhile, IU has adjusted her scheduled September concert at Goyang Stadium and subsequent performance schedules, while also postponing the release of her sixth full-length album due to worsening symptoms of chronic patulous Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Netizen Reactions

The sampled Nate News comments were largely positive toward IU’s thoughtfulness and the friendship between Kim Young-ok and Na Moon-hee, although a smaller number of commenters criticized or questioned IU’s intentions.

1. People can call IU a fox or whatever, but I think it’s amazing how much thought and heart she puts into things wherever she goes.
2. I don’t understand why IU gets so much hate. Have the people criticizing her ever donated as much as IU or taken care of the people around them? Well, if they had that kind of character, they probably wouldn’t be sitting here criticizing people~
3. Both of you are so graceful and beautiful. Please stay healthy for a long, long time!!
4. Stop hating on IU. Where else do you find a young friend like IU? I really hate the kinds of kids who have nothing to pick on so they drag in an ex-boyfriend and hate on her over all sorts of weird things.
5. Look at her using the elders now that her image seems to be slowly going downhill ㅋㅋ She’s the ultimate schemer ㅋㅋ
6. The upvotes and downvotes combined only add up to 13, so what’s with the comment below having 44 upvotes? ㅋㅋ Are these paid commenters or what?
7. IU is so kind 👏 Kim Young-ok-nim, Na Moon-hee-nim 🫶 Dear my crazy soulmate 💜
8. IU is amazing~~ She went to a famous rice cake shop in Gwangju from 7 in the morning to line up and buy rice cakes for Na Moon-hee and Kim Young-ok, and she even gave them a gold toad as a gift. Both of the two pre-release songs this time are so, so good that I’ve been listening to them on repeat lately, and I really want to see the music video for From This Star soon~ㅎㅎㅎ
9. She’s calculating—in a good way.
10. Just seeing the two of them made me unexpectedly emotional. It reminded me of my late grandmother too. Their girlish sensibility is cute as well. Thank you, IU!
