Comedian Kim Shin-young has drawn mixed reactions after appearing on a live home shopping broadcast shortly after beginning a break from her longtime radio program.

According to Sports Seoul, Kim shared photos on social media on September 15 showing herself appearing on a home shopping broadcast. In one image, she is seen eating a large piece of short rib with tongs while joking, “Look at her—she’s satisfying her own cravings and filling her stomach while broadcasting.”

Kim previously announced that she would take a three-month break from MBC FM4U’s Kim Shin-young’s Noon Song of Hope, which she had hosted for 14 years. At the time, she said she was in good health but wanted time to focus on her company, take care of things she had postponed, and reorganize before returning.

She also recently responded to speculation about her absence from a group photo posted by I Live Alone, writing on September 10 that she would return the following week. Her home shopping appearance nevertheless prompted some online users to question why she was continuing other broadcast activities while taking a break from radio.
